- License: The CRNA employee must hold a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia, especially when services are provided on VA property.
- Certification: The candidate must be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent, and complete all necessary continuing education courses to maintain certification.
- Credentialing and Clinical Privileges/Scope of Practice: Approval by the Chief of Staff and Professional Standards Board, and granted by the Director of VAMC, is required before providing any services under this contract.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of direct patient care experience within the last three years is necessary for the role.
- Educational Background: All candidates need to have a Master's degree from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
