    Reports to: Director of Collections

    Responsible to grow market share and increase pounds of merchandise collected while adhering to budgeted merchandise cost per pound - Collection stream is to be at 120% of production budget(s).

    Responsibilities and duties:

    • As part of our Management team, everything you do has a specific purpose that links productivity to business results in your store(s).
    • Represents UCDS Management and market within community and act as a liaison between UCDS and community.
    • Ensures company records are completed, organized, retained and safeguarded in accordance with company policy and procedure and applicable laws.
    • Ensuring standards are met on all levels from each department and the OSHA, compliance with EEOC, and DOT.
    • Ability to manage and support a group of people.
    • Ability to manage the financial assets of the store(s) and Achieve 100% of monthly budget.
    • Ability to create a teamwork atmosphere throughout the collection department and store(s) and ensure a positive work atmosphere where team member contributions are valued
    • Deal with performance concerns promptly, directly, fairly, and respectfully while maintaining a solutions based focus
    • Spend your time and time with others on what's important; quickly zero in on the critical priorities and put the trivial aside.
    • Be curious about how the business works and how you/we can make it better.
    • This position oversees collections, drivers and driving product procurement.
    • *Manage sourcing/finding new locations for donation sites
    • Sourcing of donation stations i.e. trailers and shed
    • Managing movement boxes as needed
    • Working closely with store managers on inventory needs
    • Sourcing donation boxes as needed - ordering and signage as needed
    • Managing/Relocating donation stations or boxes
    • Working with municipalities on permits
    • Meeting with Municipality regularly to encourage workable ordinances
    • Closing loop on all donor complains
    • Working with Charity Group partners as needed
    • Interviewing drivers as needed
    • Reviewing collection reports
    • Sourcing trucks and trailers as needed
    • Customer service with site hosts
    • Exclusivity of site--Resolve problems when competitor places box on our sites

    Qualifications:

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Demonstrated supervisory, management and leadership skills.
    • Demonstrated customer service skills.
    • Demonstrated planning and organization skills.
    • Ability to think and act as a business owner in the thrift industry.
    • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to make or influence decisions.
    • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
    • Ability to establish relationships with peers, internal and external customers and vendors.
    • Ability to work within UCDSs culture.
    • Ability to travel occasionally.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree preferred; or a combination of education and experience that yields the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
    • High level of diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
    • Qualifying for DOT medical card and certification as authorized company driver
