    Position Summary

    Viskase is seeking a driven and experienced Strategic Account Manager to join our National Sales Team, focusing on the Midwest territory. This role is ideal for a dynamic sales professional with a solid background in B2B manufacturer-to-manufacturer sales, particularly in the food processing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and expanding customer accounts, prospecting new business opportunities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions to traditional meat processors.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Customer Engagement and Development: Regularly interact with key customer contacts to enhance relationships, understand needs, and deliver tailored product solutions. Focus on both maintaining existing accounts and re-engaging former customers.
    • Sales Strategy and Execution: Implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed regional sales targets. Prioritize opportunities to maximize growth and report progress through company CRM tools.
    • Market Analysis: Collects information on product performance, market trends, and competitive developments. Prepares reports to keep organization informed.
    • Educational Initiatives: Lead educational sessions for customers on Viskase products and services, ensuring clients are well-informed and able to utilize our offerings effectively.
    • Networking and Representation: Represent Viskase at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings to promote our products and strengthen brand visibility.

    Required Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
    • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in B2B sales within manufacturing environments, ideally related to food ingredients, packaging, or equipment.
    • Experience must include selling performance of a product where you've qualified a product in order for sale to happen (technical type of sale)
    • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software; strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Characteristics: Must be a resilient 'hunter' with proven ability to secure new business and manage complex sales cycles. Ability to handle rejection and persist in the face of challenges.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must reside in or near Chicagoland or within an hour of a major airport to effectively manage the Midwest territory.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional teams to meet customer needs.
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals in a technically complex sales environment.
