- Keep an up to date inventory of food and supplies.
- Maintain food handling certifications as required by the health department.
- Assure food products are used and stored to prevent spoilage/waste.
- Maintain kitchen and equipment in a sanitary and orderly manner.
- Assure compliance to appropriate health and safety standards.
- Monitor physical condition of equipment and kitchen facility.
- Plan and follow weekly nutritionally balanced menu.
- Assist in planning special diets while meeting special dietary needs of client based on health or religious beliefs

YWCA Oklahoma City offers victims of domestic violence (DV), sexual assault (SA), and stalking immediate crisis response services through our C.A.R.E.
programs includes the following services:
Crisis hotlines, Advocacy, emergency Residential shelter, and forensic nurse Exams. The H.O.P.E. programs includes Healing, Opportunities, Prevention, and Education.
YWCA OKC services are provided at our primary location, through staff embedded at the Palomar Family Justice Center and local hospitals throughout the metro Oklahoma City area.
YWCA Oklahoma City is seeking candidates for full time or part time shelter cook.The successful candidates will assist in creating monthly menus, prepare meals daily, maintain food inventory and maintain sanitary conditions of kitchen, dining, and storage areas at YWCA Emergency Shelter.
The part time position will include health insurance, paid vacation and retirement._Prepare and serve meals for the shelter clients and keep the snack and breakfast stocked for availability as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent. One-year experience in food service and ServeSafe Certification preferred. Professional kitchen experience preferred.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Hours for this position will include weekends, some evenings and holidays.
