WORKS by JD specializes in kitchen, bathroom, basement, attic, and full home remodeling along with home additions, custom carpentry, decking and painting services.

    About the role:

    Our painting division works on the interior and exterior of residential structures. As a lead painter, you should have experience with the necessary tools, be comfortable working in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in selecting the right material for the job and leading a team to deliver a quality project. Painting provides both practical and aesthetic benefits to the finish of a project and WORKS by JDs goal is to deliver consistent high-quality painting work.

    Key responsibilities of the role:

    The Lead Painter is responsible for setting up and breaking down interior and exterior job sites, preparing surfaces for paint or stain, applying base and finish coats of paint/stain, and cleaning up the worksite. The position also performs basic carpentry repair work as needed

    The Lead Painter supervises painters and subcontractors assigned to the project and ensures that the project finishes on time and within budget

    Lead Painters will follow all OSHA & EPA Regulations for RRP (Renovate Repair Painting Program) for anything built prior to 1978

    Lead painters will coach painters and apprentice painters on the companys processes, quality standards, project scopes, and system applications i.e., BuilderTrend, TSheets, and Bamboo HR

    The Lead Painter will manage materials and assist with painting inventories. Material purchasing will be organized to maximize efficiencies and minimize cost. Material take-offs and ordering will be done in a timely way that maintains the work schedule

    Lead Painters will have a clear understanding of the projects scope, materials, timeline, and budget and will communicate the projects status and any concerns to the client, team, and leadership throughout the project

    Quality control standards will be implemented for work in progress. Errors and omissions will be identified, and corrective measures will be taken immediately

    Thorough and proactive communication will be maintained with all parties

    Job files will include change orders, receipts, daily logs, all communications, contracts, subcontracts, etc.

    Qualifications:

    10+ years of professional painting experience, preferably in a residential setting

    Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them

    Solid knowledge of construction painting techniques

    Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns, etc.)

    Good basic math skills

    Profound skills to communicate directly with customers

    Be a team player who is also able to manage projects independently

    Accustomed to extreme weather conditions, heavy lifting, and stamina

    Ability to work independently

    Exceptional professionalism

    Possessing a positive work ethic

    Other Requirements:

    Must have a valid driver's license and solid driving record and reliable transportation

    Eligibility to work in the U.S. and willing to undergo background check
