    HCN seeks a charismatic and dedicated business development professional to drive our efforts to form alliances and business contracts with nonprofits and to pursue philanthropic foundation grants. The Strategic Partnerships position offers the opportunity to interact with thought leaders and change makers, and to help them meet their Multicultural outreach and engagement goals — in ways that generate positive impact for both their organization s and the Multicultural communities we serve.

    As the Strategic Partnerships Lead, you will drive all nonprofit / philanthropy business development efforts, and support grant-writing activities. Under the guidance of the CEO, you will develop and implement prospecting & engagement strategies for non-profits cultivate foundation relationships; and identify / pursue contracting and grant opportunities. Additionally, you will play a key role in shaping the organization's strategic direction by collaborating with leadership to identify growth opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the company's mission to improve the lives of multicultural communities.

    Strategy and Business Development

    • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to market HCN's unique services and networks to nonprofits and philanthropy aligned with HCN's mission and goals.
    • Position HCN as a strategic partner for nonprofits and foundations seeking to reach, engage and/or educate multicultural audiences.
    • Pitch company services and unique value proposition via cold calls/email/in-person.
    • Track down hard-to-find contact information for key decision-makers.
    • Cultivate and steward relationships with:
    • Nonprofits that lead to 1) contracts directly to HCN; or, 2) joint applications with nonprofit partners for foundation and government grants.
    • Philanthropic foundation program officers and pitch project briefs developed with company leadership and non-profit partners.
    • State/local governments that support nonprofits and collaborate with philanthropy
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
    • Work with our Proposals team to respond to requests for quotes and proposals from nonprofits, philanthropy and government.
    • Contribute to the development of marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, and promotional materials.
    • Increase the visibility of the company through attendance, participation and presentations at events attended by nonprofits, major foundations, local/state/federal governmental agencies, politicians, and community-based organizations.
    • Meet personal and team quarterly and annual financial targets by securing contracts and grants.
    • Track all contacts and activities in the company CRM (Salesforce, Hubspot).
    • Deliver weekly metrics-driven goals reports: new prospects identified, cold calls executed, pitches conducted, proposals delivered.
    • Develop a grants pipeline and stay informed about foundations' funding cycles, program goals and areas of focus.
    • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and submissions and track grant outcomes and reporting requirements.
    • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations via search platforms , Candid, etc).
    • Partner with HCN's sister nonprofit and/or external nonprofit partner(s) to write clear, concise, compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports.
    • Collaborate with strategy, delivery and creative staff to gather relevant data and information for grant applications.
    • Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and deadlines, including budgetary and reporting obligations.
    • Lead internal efforts to compile grant reports and ensure on-time delivery.
    • Excellent oral and written pitch skills: persuasive in-person, over the phone and via email.
    • Understanding of nonprofit and philanthropy mind-set and how to speak their language. Previous nonprofit fundraising and grant writing experience a plus.
    • Minimum 1-year full-time grant or proposal writing experience.
    • Demonstrated success in securing new clients and winning contracts.
    • Command of SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce or similar CRM databases required.
    • Ability to design and maintain effective marketing materials.
    • Previous professional experience with one or more multicultural communities and knowledge of related social justice issues is a plus.
    • Self-driven while also able to work with team members spread across the country.
    • Well-organized and solid time manager; ability to meet fast deadlines.
    • Resourceful with creative solutions.
