Our behavioral health team focuses on the mental health assessment and behavioral treatment of patients seeking weight loss treatment.The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated interest and experience in providing evidence-based mental health care in a multidisciplinary weight management team.
The UC Health Weight Loss Center is a fast paced, intellectually stimulating, innovative environment.Responsible for all behavioral health programming for UCH Weight Loss Center at West Chester Hospital, UCH Medical Center and in UCH Transplant-Related Interdisciplinary Metabolic Surgery (TRIMS) in the Transplant Division, Department of Surgery.
Directs development of clinical protocols, monitoring outcomes, supervision of clinical providers, coordination of care with outside mental health clinicians and ensuring quality of care, patient satisfaction and adherence to requirements of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) Center of Excellence requirements.
Functions as a member of interdisciplinary treatment team including consultation/attendance at clinical case conferences and other interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings.
Provides mental health assessment, diagnosis, consultation, treatment and related psychological services.to persons with obesity in medical, surgical and transplant programs including:
post-surgical assessment and brief health and behavioral intervention and/or cognitive behavioral therapy in group or individual format as indicated;
evaluation and brief health and behavioral intervention and/or cognitive behavioral therapy for medical (non-surgical) weight loss patients;
cognitive behavioral therapy in individual and group format for patients with binge eating disorder or related disordered eating behavior.
Master's degree in Nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program.Three (3) years nursing experience.
Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health as Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS-BC) or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry .Eligible or willing to become eligible for Membership in American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and/or The Obesity Medicine Association.
Completion of ASMBS Fundamentals in Bariatric Behavioral Health course or attendance at three ASMBS or related courses on surgical obesity treatment.
