Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic shop team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, tractors, semi's, trailers etc. Your expertise will help keep our clients' operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and chassis systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
- Service and repair various machinery including, tractors, trailers, and industrial equipment..
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with dealership or industrial background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostics software and schematics interpretation.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including welding), soldering tools, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience working with heavy machinery such as trucks, tractors, trailers and industrial/ construction equipment.
- Excellent communication and team skills with the ability to navigate technical procedures clearly to advisors.
