    Semmes Murphey Clinic's mission is to deliver the best care for people suffering from neurological illnesses while advancing the field of neuroscience. The physicians and healthcare professionals at Semmes Murphey Clinic will provide each patient with the best care possible.

    The primary responsibility for a nurse in the Semmes Murphey Surgery Center is to assist physicians during surgical procedures, and supervise and direct patient care before, during and after surgery. This includes charting, preparing rooms/instruments, patient education, and developing a plan of care. There are opportunities for both circulating and preop/PACU RNs.

    The hours of a PRN employee will vary based off of needs, but is typically from 6:00am - 3:00pm with varying end times, depending on surgery scheduling.

    The Semmes Murphey ASC is single specialty ASC with flexibility of staffing, NO call, NO holidays and NO regularly scheduled weekends.

    Requirements

    We are searching for a candidate who:
    • knows how to adhere to OSHA/HIPAA guidelines as related to nursing
    • is able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in both positive and negative situations
    • is able to comprehend and interpret verbal orders and direction
    • can make frequent judgments and respond to routine problems
    • will provide excellent customer service while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion
    Has completed a program from an accredited school of nursing, one (1) year experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center, and an active RN license. BLS certification is also required. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), electronic medical records, and medical practice software. Organizational skills with attention to detail are required.
