    Job Summary

    The Senior Project Manager is crucial in steering and overseeing field projects of varying sizes, risks, and complexities, often involving multiple craft disciplines. This role also focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities with clients or specific regions. Operates independently while adhering to company policies and general management direction, and offers guidance to junior project managers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Champion the Company's commitment to safety and uphold its core values.
    • Maintain high moral standards while representing the Company and adhering to its Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients to facilitate construction activities, while assessing project scope and necessary resources.
    • Engage in bid meetings, project meetings, and strategy sessions relevant to assigned projects.
    • Set project objectives, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with corporate policy; oversee comprehensive estimates for project proposals.
    • Organize and staff key field positions in collaboration with operational department heads and subordinate project managers.
    • Provide administrative oversight of on-site field supervision to guarantee project alignment with design, budget, and timelines; address and resolve significant issues proactively.
    • Offer technical assistance, including interpretation of drawings and equipment recommendations; manage extra work estimating and change order issuance.
    • Accountable for the profit and loss of managed projects; oversee financial aspects of contracts to safeguard the company's interests while fostering positive client relationships.
    • Identify opportunities for new business development related to clients or specific geographical areas.
    • Perform additional responsibilities as necessary.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or a combination of relevant education and 15 years of job-related experience; degree not required.
    • Over 10 years of supervisory experience in Heavy Industrial/EPC project management, preferably in a unionized environment.
    • Experience collaborating with union construction subcontractors is advantageous.
    • Project Management Certification from PMI is preferred.
    • Comprehensive understanding of corporate and industry practices and standards and their influence on project activities.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; strong negotiation abilities.
    • Thorough knowledge of construction, design, finance, business development, and project management principles.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and project scheduling software.
    • Proven ability to apply innovative management techniques for maximum performance and accountability.
    • Demonstrated success in delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
    • Able to manage heavy workloads and time-sensitive tasks while prioritizing multiple projects effectively.
    • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, capable of problem-solving and efficiently utilizing available resources.
    • Experienced in preparing complex proposals and estimating a varied range of projects.
    • Solid understanding of financial statements and reports.
