Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team at the Wilmington, MA office. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency in implementing automation solutions using PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms.
This is a leadership role that involves direct interaction with clients, leading a team of engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
Deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards, either independently or leading a team.
Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery.
Develop control system architecture, select components, detail schematic diagrams, and create system documentation.
Program controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU) and process visualization (HMI/SCADA).
Develop databases for archiving/displaying historical system data.
Implement and commission control systems at the client's facility.
Utilize controller programming languages such as Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and others.
Proficient in standard programming languages such as VBA, .NET, and SQL for HMI/SCADA systems.
Design and implement industrial networking solutions using protocols like Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.
Project management responsibilities for larger systems, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
Oversee daily operations and activities of projects up to $1M, ensuring overall profitability.
Act as a technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers and technicians.
Potentially act as a Project Manager on smaller projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
10+ years of experience with a strong understanding of PLC, HMI/SCADA, and DCS platforms.
Familiarity with electrical schematics, AutoCAD, and industrial networking.
Experience leading teams and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Proven experience managing automation design and implementation projects in the Life Science industry.
Strong knowledge of S88 Batch, regulatory requirements, GAMP5, and validation.
Extensive knowledge of automation protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, etc.) and IT/OT networking.
Experience with relational databases (SQL, Oracle).
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Professional references, including a subordinate, a peer, and a manager.
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 25%.

Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, ability to mount/dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling.
Working Conditions:
