    Summary: Responsible for the overall profitability of the retail store, directs and oversees the store personnel to assure effective and efficient operations in accordance with established policy and procedures. This position is required to work a minimum of a 45-hour workweek. Weekends will be part of the regular work schedule.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

    • Completes the weekly store work schedule.
    • Approves or denies subordinate's time off requests with Branch Manager.
    • Recommends hiring of budgeted or non-budgeted positions within the retail store.
    • Recommends pay increases for store staff.
    • Completes store associate's performance evaluations and insures the adherence to annual or 90 day review date.
    • Assists in the hiring of store staff.
    • Assists in the training of all subordinate staff.
    • Responsible to stay within the guidelines of the retail store budget.
    • Oversees and provides counsel and instructions to subordinate managers and monitors their performance.
    • Mediates any customer or associate complaints that cannot be resolved at a lower supervisory level and hands off to the Branch Manager those that can't be solved.
    • Covers the mystery shopper survey with the store staff.
    • Holds monthly store meetings with staff to communicate; company directions, retail store information, and to address any concerns or issues of either management or the staff.
    • Assures that all company policies and procedures are being observed amongst the staff.
    • Assesses the efficient use and profitability of the retail floor space and gives merchandising directions to improve the overall profitability.
    • Monitors the merchandise / product turnover, ordering, stocking, and inventory and gives direction as needed in each of these areas and follows up with subordinate staff to insure completion of all directions.
    • Encourages and mentors each associate to develop their individual career goals.
    • Remains aware of the competition within the community and offers suggestions regarding pricing and strategy.
    • Conducts terminations with management staff.
    • Responsible for correcting safety concerns or issues as they may arise.
    • Responsible for the overall merchandising of the store items.
    • Responsible for the store neatness and cleanliness.
    • Promote an atmosphere of mutual respect and credibility through effective and open communications.
    • Administer all company policy and procedures consistently and equitably.
    • Responsible for maintaining store profitability through proper inventory control and monitoring store expenses.
    • Assists, investigates and informs Loss Prevention of any theft or wrong doing of staff.
    • Exercises discretion and confidentiality in all communications both internal and external.
    • Develop and achieve desirable store image by awareness of competition and consumer needs.
    • Coordinate and comply with requirements of all top management and staff departments.
    • Assists in conducting physical inventories annually.
    • Conduct weekly meeting with subordinate management staff; offers both direction and suggestions with regards to increasing sales and company goals.
    • Delegates and follows up on company directions.
    • Assists and covers areas of the store if no staffing is available.
    • Handles disciplinary actions regarding unacceptable performance or behavior.
    • Must have product knowledge.
    • Knowledge in receiving.
    • Knowledge in the Epicor System to include purchase orders inquires, product inquires, and receiving inquires.
    • Must be knowledgeable of all register operations and ensues proper procedures are being followed at all times.
    • Familiar with and be able to operate key cutting machine.
    • Familiar with and able to operate the paint mixer.
    • Responsible for associate and customer safety.
    • Responsible for in-store machinery and equipment.
    • Conducts cash register close out procedures.
    • Be aware of and enforce all safety and security procedures.
    • Maintains a professional attitude and appearance.
    • Communicates all advertising and promotions with store staff.
    • Completes all required paperwork as directed.
    • Complete or delegate the weekly Ace order.
    • Directly supervisor and / or create the merchandise transfer between branches.
    • Reviews weekly time clock adjustments.
    • Reviews and follows up on credit memos, and defective goods.
    • Create or review or work the negative count sheets, and open order reports.

    As with all other jobs other duties may be assigned. Management reserves the right to reassign an individual in this position to another position in the interest of efficient personnel utilization.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Directly supervises 5 or more associates assigned to the retail store. Caries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's polices and applicable Federal and State Laws. Responsibilities include training associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and / or Experience:

    Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to two years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, associates and venders.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percents, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardizations exist.
