    Who we are

    The Economic Development & Community Impact department within the Division of Academic & Strategic Collaborations supports engagement between Texas A&M University and the people and communities it serves. We build partnerships between university programs, communities, and organizations to foster and showcase talent, innovation, and a strong, dynamic sense of place. Our work includes virtual and in-person continuing education and PK-16 learning to support workforce development. Regional strategies support public-private partnerships underlying collaborative economic development, research and innovation, and service opportunities throughout the State of Texas.

    What we want

    The Program Manager, under direction of the Director of Continuing and Professional Development, plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities of the K-12 STEM Professional Development program, including developing and implementing training programs and curriculum and educational outreach; builds collaborative relationships with school districts and university partners; organizes and executes workshops and training opportunities for K-12 educators; initiating, implementing, and assessing a variety of program initiatives.

    What you need to know

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Five years of related experience

    Required Licenses and Certifications:

    • Valid STEM related teaching certificate

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of STEM Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills
    • Demonstrated K-12 STEM curriculum knowledge and development
    • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills
    • Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment
    • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
    • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams
    • Demonstrated experience in project management
    • Ability to provide exceptional teacher/partner service
    • Skilled in developing and facilitating collaborative relationships
    • Ability to effectively plan and execute long-term projects that make efficient use of resources, meet deadlines, achieve, objectives, and maintain morale among staff and faculty partners through the process

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Education or STEM related field
    • Experience in teacher coaching and training, preferably STEM content
    • LMS design experience
    • Experience conducting in-person or online training
    • Experience with grant applications or other program sponsorship funding
    • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to manage, plan and organize effectively
    • Experience working with Title I campuses

    Responsibilities:

    • Programming and Implementation – Identifies, facilitates, promotes, supports in person and online engagement and outreach activities of university faculty and external stakeholders/partners that contribute to the public good, including STEM learning activities. Researches, develops and writes white papers, grant applications and prepares presentations. Assists with the development and production of materials designed for the program. Assists in developing strategic plans and goals to support educational outreach programming, including continuing education, PK-16, and related virtual and in-person opportunities. Maintains and develops communications between partners by attending meetings and conference calls.
    • Logistics and Reporting – Maintains program records and databases. Assists with yearly budgetary and contract processes. Ensures programs, activities, and services comply with University, State, and Federal regulations. Develops and implements appropriate assessment tools for program management. Ability to monitor and disaggregate program data. Prepares vouchers, purchase orders, and requisition and coordinates with accounting personnel and other support staff.
    • Educational Outreach – Facilitates educational outreach services for faculty, colleges, university administration and academic collaboration in areas of K-12 educator outreach, teacher engagement, continuing education and professional development. Develops and maintains strategic relationships and partnerships with faculty, college and university administrators, community leadership, and Independent School Districts. Performs other duties as assigned.
