    Job Summary

    The Director of Medical Staff Services is responsible for department management, development, and monitoring of it's processes and procedures.

    The Director's core responsibilities include oversight of the CoxHealth CVO, privileging, proctoring, medical staff quality/peer review processes, and medical staff education/CME.

    This individual will lead and participate in various medical staff meetings; assist with maintenance of the medical staff manuals, policies, and Bylaws; and ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory agency requirements.

    This individual will assist the Administrative Director in establishing goals, objectives, and plans to ensure effective performance.
    Job Requirements

    Education


    Required:
    Bachelor's degree in Nursing

    Preferred:
    Master's Degree in Healthcare

    Experience

    Required: 5 years of clinical healthcare experience
    Required: 2 years of management experience

    Preferred: 2 years of working knowledge of medical staff credentialing and organizational structures; enrollment, medical staff quality and project management experience.

    Skills

    Excellent leadership qualities; ability to motivate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
    Clear, concise writing, organization and presentation skills
    Ability to maintain fast pace and manage a diverse and demanding workload
    Decisive and capable of exercising good judgment under pressure
    Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, providers, managers, and staff
    Creative problem solving
    Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

    Licensure/Certification/Registration


    Required:
    Registered Nurse

    Preferred:
    Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality or Certified Professional in Medical Staff Services Management.
