Job DescriptionRole: Mental Health Clinician
Location: 1500 Hazen St (Riker's Island), East Elmhurst, NY 11370
Department: Psychiatry/Mental Health
Duties:
· Conduct mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, assessments, and follow-up care.
· Determine and coordinate disposition of patients for appropriate level of care.
· Coordinate with re-entry social workers for appropriate discharge planning services.
· Collaborate with Department of Corrections to ensure access to patients, proper housing, and treatment disposition.
· Coordinate patient care with other institutional programs, complete required statistical reports and required documentation.
· Develop and lead group treatment on mental health observation units and other units as assigned.
· Participates in clinical supervision with Clinical Supervisor at least once per week.
· Participate in case conferences and treatment planning for patients receiving and being considered for mental health treatment.
· May conduct psychological testing as assigned/when required, may supervise social work interns or student volunteers as assigned.
Requirements:
· Experience conducting assessment and treatment with adults with behavioral problems, substance use histories, and severe mental illness highly preferred.
· Inpatient or related experience highly preferred.
· Active NYS LMSW License & Registration.
· Malpractice Insurance.
Pay: $62.00 – 65.00/hour
Schedule: 4:00pm – 12:00am shift, 35 paid hours/week (1 hour break per shift)
Tentative Start/End Dates: 5/20/24 – 7/13/24 (potential for extension)
