    Job Description

    Craftsmen Contractors is looking to hire a Carbon Steel Pipe Welder for the Mobile, Alabama area. This is for a long term new construction commercial project. Job consists of welding 8" carbon steel pipe for conveyor belt installations with prefabricated materials.

    Carbon Steel Pipe Welder pay rate: $23 - $25/hr. depending on experience.

    Combo Welder/Fitters are encouraged to apply and will be paid more depending on experience.

    **NO PER DIEM IS OFFERED**

    The current schedule is working day shifts from Mondays thru Fridays averaging 40 hours per week.

    Will be responsible for welding and repairing carbon steel according to specifications.

    Pipe Welder Job Duties:

    • Read and interpret blueprints.
    • Assemble, install and repair pipe components and systems according to specifications.
    • Inspect welding equipment and tools.
    • Prepare pipe for welding by clamping and cutting.
    • Examine completed welds to ensure they are free from defects.
    • Observe safety regulations.

    Pipe Welder Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years of recent experience with carbon steel pipe welding
    • Working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards.
    • Knowledge and experience with welding equipment and processes.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent technical skills and the ability to interpret schematics.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Physical dexterity.
    • Must have basic hand tools and PPE.
    • Will need to do a phone interview prior to being hired and the weld test will be on the day you start working.
