    Job Summary

    As the Ground Segment Product Manager, you will be working to manage the ground segment portion of a variety of existing and new space missions. Your responsibilities will encompass the full mission life cycle: generating ground architecture concepts; writing requirements; schedule planning for development, integration and test (I&T), delivery, and sustainment. You will collaboratively manage the schedule, budget, and technical performance metrics of satellite ground segment deliverables for assigned control accounts. You will drive team execution for Ground Segment across multiple programs.
    The position will require working with company and program management, multiple engineering teams, production, ATLO (Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations), and our Customers to deliver qualified ground segment components on time and on budget.

    This position's internal job code is Project Engineer . Our team is currently hiring for levels 4 .

    Job Responsibilities

    Lead ground segment efforts as part of the companys space mission program execution team with an emphasis on delivering ground software, integrating tools and hardware, as required
    Plan and perform ground integration activities, including ground software interface testing with simulations, physical hardware, and/or mission simulators
    Coordinate with technical leads to understand and prioritize technical scope
    Drive team execution (day to day) and execution of upcoming milestones
    Manage technical project scope, planning, proposals, cost estimates, schedules, cost performance, Estimates at Completion (EAC), Risk assessment throughout the program lifecycle
    Update program LRE (Latest Revised Estimate) planners, schedules, and provide Earned Value Management inputs, including variance analysis and corrective action planning
    Establish program Baselines
    Cost and Schedule performance on your represented Control Account(s)
    Track and update key ground segment TPMs (Technical Performance Metrics)
    Identify issues and risks early, proactively resolve issues that impede program progress, obtain assistance when needed to allow design staff to concentrate on their work products
    Track ground segment DRs (Discrepancy Reports) and work with respective engineering teams to close out any open DRs
    Status key ground segment deliverables to program management, customers, and other stakeholders
    Assist in internal company planning, proposals, and business strategies. You will work with company principal engineers and leaders to assess how we best leverage company capabilities to provide time efficient, cost-effective solutions for our customers.

    Minimum Qualifications

    B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Software or Computer Engineering/Computer Science
    Experience with GOTS/COTS-based satellite mission control systems. This includes architecting large software systems spanning multiple disciplines and physical locations and designing software systems in response to evolving customer requirements
    Experience with MS Excel, Word, Project, and Powerpoint
    Experience leading engineering development teams and personnel
    Experience using tools and metrics in managing activities
    Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework and other US Government cybersecurity requirements for ground system architectures and software development
    Experience developing detailed schedules, requirements development, I&T plans, writing user documentation, and developing operational transition and sustainment plans
    Comfortable communicating technical details both verbally and in writing

    Preferred Qualifications

    M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering/Computer Science and/or Program Management
    Demonstrated experience with CCSDS protocols and XTCE; ground software products like Neptune CGA
    Experience with iterative and agile software development, especially with Linux-based systems
    Familiarity with US Government ground systems and operational requirements and transitioning ground software from contractor to customer management
    Familiarity with distributed systems and real-time data processing
    Familiarity with user experience and user interface design
    Understanding of execution methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc) and the ability to tailor them based on program needs
    Demonstrate the ability to balance the needs of multiple programs and stakeholders in a resource and schedule constrained environment
    Ability to determine and proactively act on program execution trends
    Knowledge of satellite subsystems and components
    3 or more years of experience with program execution leadership

    Summary Pay-Range

    Level 4: $122,400 - $180,000
