    Job Class: Non-Exempt / Reports To: Chef de Cuisine/Sous Chef


    POSITION SUMMARY: The Line Cook is directly responsible for all kitchen functions including preparation and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness, preparation, plate presentation, and portion and cost control.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To excel in this role, candidates must be able to fulfill the following key duties proficiently:

    • Ensure consistent preparation and serving of food and products according to set standards.
    • Prepare food following established procedures and systems.
    • Determine required food and supplies accurately using production systems.
    • Maintain supply and food availability for timely preparation.
    • Adhere to sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health protocols.
    • Follow proper food preparation and handling practices.
    • Report any necessary equipment repairs promptly.
    • Adhere to standard recipes and special diet orders.
    • Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables and slicing meats.
    • Keep work area clean and organized, maintaining food preparation equipment.
    • Ensure cleanliness by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and handling trash.
    • Conduct food temperature checks before service.
    • Perform daily deep cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
    • Properly store and rotate food items to ensure safety and freshness.
    • Complete any other assigned duties.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE): Candidates should meet the following qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience
    • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
    • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to multitask
    • Strong verbal communication skills for interactions with various stakeholders
    • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
    • Flexibility to work overtime and varied shifts

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical demands associated with the role:

    • Regular standing and occasional sitting, with frequent walking and other physical movements.
    • Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination for equipment handling.
    • Repetitive hand motions and prolonged standing periods.
    • Visual abilities for close, distance, and color vision.
    • Occasional lifting and carrying of moderate weight.
    • Moderate to high noise level in the work environment.
    • Possible exposure to hazards like cuts, slips, falls, and burns.
    • Work environment may include heat, cold, and mild chemicals.
