    Description


    The Accounting Manager is responsible for general ledger processing and preparation of monthly financial statements by GAAP and SEC requirements.

    They will manage quarterly auditor reviews and annual audits and ensure the maintenance of a sound internal control system and the management of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.


    Roles & Responsibilities:
    Assist with preparing monthly internal financial reporting package, analysis, and associated month-end reports.

    Manage SOX compliance.

    Plan and coordinate quarterly auditor reviews and annual audits, including SOX compliance.

    Supervise Accounting staff.

    Provide analytical support to other departments.

    Manage month-end close process, which includes generating or reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.

    Perform the accounting associated with complex revenue arrangements (services revenue recognition).

    Assist with Annual Operating Plan preparation and analysis.

    Provide ongoing analysis and tracking of actual results for the operating plan throughout the year.

    Assist in maintaining accurate financial projections.

    Maintain Fourth Shift accounting system (attend Fourth Shift training as necessary).

    Research technical accounting matters, summarize, and apply findings as necessary.

    Assist with cash flow forecasting and cash management.

    Assist in the company's implementation of a new ERP system.

    Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

    Demonstrate continuous improvement and promote a progressive quality culture.

    Successfully attain performance period accountabilities established by the employee and their supervisor.

    Comply with regulatory and industry standards.

    Structure, lead, train, and develop staff for maximum effectiveness.

    Carry out supervisory responsibilities according to the company's policies and applicable laws.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning, assigning, and directing work, communicating and appraising performance on an ongoing basis, completing timely performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

    Responsible for compliance to key internal controls (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).


    Required Skills & Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

    CPA preferred.

    Minimum of five years of Accounting experience.

    Public accounting (audit) experience preferred.

    Manufacturing industry experience preferred.

    Demonstrated technical abilities to direct maintenance of the general ledger and development of financial statements.

    Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP").

    Proven ability to analyze and interpret records, statements and reports.

    Ability to interact with company management and represent the Finance department in a professional, confident and competent manner.

    Established ability to accurately work with numbers with a high level of attention to detail.

    Personable and dependable, with the ability and desire to grow and expand in job skills and areas of responsibility.

    Proficiency in MS Excel.

    Confidentiality is a must.

    Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
