    The Work
    As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering team, you will:


    • Design, assessment, troubleshooting and analysis of hardware
    • Support development of new hardware leveraging existing system architecture\.
    • Support Proposal and BOE Preparation activities as required
    • Lead and Participate in Design Reviews depending on complexity\.
    • Support production environments in researching obsolescence COTS and customer hardware\.
    • Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals or simulator documents\.
    • Comply with site policy and procedures\.
    • Able to work in a fast paced environment
    • Performs other duties as assigned\.

    Additional duties may include development of technical reports, white\-papers, modification kits, Hardware Architecture Models/Diagrams, procedures for qualification test and evaluation of redesigns and prototypes to ensure compliance with customer objectives\.

    This position will require the selected candidate to have or obtain a Secret level U\.S\. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin, U\.S\. citizenship is a requirement for consideration\.

    You possess a deep understanding of structures, mechanisms, and materials, demonstrated through your adept application of Mechanical Design Principles, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing \(GD&T\)\.

    Your proficiency extends to utilizing mechanical modeling and analysis tools such as SolidWorks/CREO and Thermal Desktop \(or equivalent\), showcasing your comprehensive knowledge in this domain\.


    A level 3 employee is typically mid\-career and has 3 to 5\+ years of professional experience\.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience\.
    • Demonstrated understanding of structures, mechanisms and materials
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing \(GD&T\)
    • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical modeling or analysis tools, such as Solidworks/CREO, Thermal Desktop \(or equivalent\)
    • Understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts
    • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship required

    Desired Skills:
    \-Good organizational and leadership skills\. Works well with people and is a good team player
    \-Strong verbal and written communication skills
    \-Experience with Windchill/EPDM system
    \-Experience designing for additive manufacturing
    \-Experience designing for manufacturability
    \-Structural and thermo\-structural knowledge and analysis capability is a plus\.
    \-Excellent writing and communication skills\.
    \-Knowledge of aircraft training systems\.
    \-Knowledge of project and team management

    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\.

    Remote Telework:

    The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility\.

    The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process\.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
