- You will prepare more complex journal entries, perform analysis on general ledger activity, and complete balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Develop analytical reports to proactively review general ledger activity for accuracy and appropriate coding to ensure a clean general ledger.
- Preferred 3-5+ years of experience in insurance and /or public accounting experience or general ledger or operational accounting.
- Preferred Insurance experience in operations (general ledger and/or systems accounting) and reporting.
- CPA candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Preferred Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or related field
- Preferred Workday Financial Management/General Ledger experience.
- Preferred experience with process improvement using Lean principles, or similar approach

Description
As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you will manage the GAAP and Statutory accounting function to ensure accuracy and prepare multiple financial statements related to GAAP and Statutory accounting.

Madison Compensation Range:
$76,000-$125,000
Boston Compensation Range:

Primary Accountabilities
*Assist with annual external audits and DOI examinations.
*Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim audit.
*Assist with testing for system reports required for management, financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
*Demonstrated experience providing customer-oriented solutions or service.
*Demonstrated experience communicating financial information
*Demonstrated experience managing/leading projects.
*Extensive knowledge of, and demonstrated experience utilizing, complex concepts related to accounting and accounting systems.
*Demonstrated experience with spreadsheets utilizing complex functions and formulas. *Solid understanding of financial reporting, financial analysis, budget and forecasting techniques or internal controls
*Demonstrated experience writing accounting memorandums on complex accounting issues and business transactions and summarizing conclusions for a non-technical audience.
