Fast paced plaintiff litigation firm specializing in elder abuse and medical malpractice is looking for a motivated and experienced paralegal. Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years civil litigation experience. Must also have working knowledge of the following:

· Draft Plaintiff discovery responses

o Contacting client(s) to collect pertinent information and responsive documents for production

o Inserting objections and drafting responses

o Preparing and sending verifications and responses to client(s) for review and signature

· Draft written discovery requests tailored to the type of case (e.g. RCFE, fall, wound, etc.)

· Prepare motions to be sent to discovery referee (scan, email, create dropbox link)

· Send documents to experts and update expert log

· Object to RFPs in defendant depo notices if we are producing the Plaintiff

· Send depo transcripts to Plaintiff, 3rd party witnesses and experts for review and signature – track to make sure we get them back

· Notify parties of changes to transcripts

· Send confirming letters/email regarding discovery extensions

· Assist in drafting pleadings as needed (summons, CCCS, case management statements, notice of posting jury fees, notice of settlement, RFD, etc)

· Draft motions to compel depositions as needed

· Assist in drafting separate statements as needed

· Assist with mediation briefs (pulling exhibits, creating binders, copies to mediator if requested)

· All court filings (preparing, compiling exhibits, scanning, bookmarking, copying, mailing, e-serving, etc)

· Serving complaints

· Draft subpoenas for production of records

· Organize and label/bookmark exhibits for motions and oppositions and other pleadings

· Ensure timely service of all pleadings, motions, oppositions, discovery, etc

· Draft expert witness designations

· Organizing trial exhibits and witness lists

· Draft demand for initial disclosures and response thereto
