Asphalt Chemist– Chicago, IL

Experienced Chemist - Asphalt, Asphalt Emulsions and Polymer modified Asphalt

Responsibilities:

· Development of new products.

· Oversee the research work in the asphalt lab.

· Testing and Data Analysis.

· Assisting plant and field people with troubleshooting

· QC products.

· DOT interaction.

· Recognize and solve problems affecting production.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Experience asphalt industry – Asphalt, Asphalt emulsion and polymer modification of asphalt.

· Five plus years related experience.

· Advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Asphalt, Polymer Chemistry is preferable.

· Proven ability to successfully achieve and exceed goals.

· Must have high energy and be able to adapt to a changing environment.

· Thorough understanding of safety requirements, and able to respond to normal hazards and take appropriate precautions.

Education:

· Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry or similar field.

· Computer skills mandatory. Word, Excel, Outlook

Preferred Experience:

· 5 – 7 years experience in the Asphalt, Asphalt Emulsion, and Polymer modification of asphalt.

· 5 years related manufacturing experience.
