Responsibilities
- Performs clerical duties related to procedures such as admission discharge transfer and death Ensures STAT orders are brought to the attention of licensed nursing personnel Transcribes physician s orders accurately and in a timely manner and notifies consults as ordered Requisitions supplies and equipment maintenance repair services prepares forms Keeps stock inventories at appropriate levels Answers telephone intercoms relays documents messages Assists physicians obtaining reports lab radiology etc Schedules tests diagnostic procedures doctors appointments for patients Follows all established infection control policies including standard precautions transmission based isolation precautions OSHA standards safety measures proper body mechanics performance job Obtains patient records other facilities Manages flowboard applicable Assures discharge disposition electronic medical records Completes education assignments annually Works toward achieving goals objectives participates quality improvement initiatives requested Performs duties assigned
