How You Can Join US
PEAKE is looking for a highly capable
Network Installation Technician , experienced in the installation of CAT 6 and Fiber Optic structured cable distribution systems.
The right candidate can terminate Ethernet and fiber cables using various methods; is familiar with connector types and manufacturers, and is experienced in testing and troubleshooting fiber optic installations using Fluke and OTDR testing.
They also have expertise in cable pulling, fire stopping, cable dressing, and labeling according to industry standards.This position requires TS/SCI clearance.
What You'll Need to Success
TS/SCI clearance
5+ years relevant experience in:
CAT 6 and Fiber Optic structured cable distribution system installation.
Ability to terminate all forms of Ethernet and fiber by various methods familiarity with connector types and manufacturers, experience testing single-mode and multi-mode fiber installations, experience with Fluke and OTDR testing and fiber optic troubleshooting, pulling cable, fire stopping, dressing cables and labeling to industry standards.
Experience with Fiber Characterization testing and resolutionInstalling, terminating, and testing all forms of copper and fiber cabling.
Installing closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures.
Attending training and safety meetings, and working safely at all times
Familiarity with DISA installation procedures and operational guidelines (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, Centrix)
Security+ preferred but not required
Proven experience as a fiber optic specialist BICSI
Installer/Technician
certification a plus.
Must be able to work safely following company policy/procedures on safety.
Conduct network configuration and able to perform network troubleshooting.
Previous duties as team lead
Must be capable of physical activity, including maneuvering around the building including comms closets, prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting of 50lbs +.
