    Overview:

    Location: Springfield, VA/St. Louis, MO

    Security Clearance Required: Active TS (SCI eligibility) clearance and eligibility to obtain a CI poly is required upon application for initial consideration **This position is not open for any clearance upgrades or sponsorship.**

    Required Certification: Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA

    Responsibilities:

    What you get to do every day:

    • Responsible for working with highly functional development team automating service deployments; optimizing system performance; integrating with enterprise authentication services; establishing/improving system monitoring; maintaining established security protocols; provide customers technical support.
    • The Cloud Engineer will be integrated with an agile environment participating with scrums and other meetings.
    • Maintain security requirements for operation of systems
    • Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc)
    • Produce detailed documentation
    • Maintain System in AWS environment using EC2, S3, Load Balancer, RDS, and IAM
    • Manage and Maintain AWS WorkSpaces
    • Automate and optimize service deployments
    • Delivering a full-stack web application to production; identifying and resolving operational issues in same
    • Actively participating in technical requirements-gathering process (i.e. meetings with customers)
    • Executing design and implementation of application features, independently / unassisted, with minimal oversight
    • Writing and reading unit tests; understanding code-quality analysis concepts
    • Writing and debugging Javascript, Typescript, or closely-related language
    • Developing applications backed by a relational database; understanding RDB design concepts
    Qualifications:

    Required Certification: Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA

    Education/Experience:

    • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
    • 5+ years IT experience

    Required Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services
    • Strong Troubleshooting skills at the Tier 1-3 level
    • Angular frontend framework; UI/UX design
    • Microservice-based backend architecture; integrating with COTS/FOSS software REST APIs
    • CI/CD pipeline implementation, ideally with GitLab
    • Strong Knowledge of Active Directory
    • Windows/Linux/Ubuntu/CentOS Administration experience
    • Desktop support
    • Domain/System Administrator experience
    • Be a team collaborator

    What is ideal?

    • Desired Certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and/or Agile/SAFe
    • Strong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS/CLI
    • Experience working with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, or Java)
    • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal development
    • Database experience with a Postgres backend
    • Experience in automating tasks using scripted languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Perl
    • Familiarity with DevOps development processes and Continuous Integration tools: GitLab, GitLab Pages, and Nexus
    • Knowledge of Confluence and Jira
    • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Analytical and problem solving skills
    • Experience in technical operations at DOD agencies, particularly NGA and DIA
