    Description

    The University of Miami - Per Diem Ophthalmic Technician Opportunity

    The University of Miami is seeking a Per Diem Ophthalmic Technician to join the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Plantation, Florida. As an **Ophthalmic Imager 1 (OI1)**, you will be proficient in eye care theory, principles, and practice. Your role involves conducting ocular diagnostic testing using specialized instrumentation and documenting in the EMR system in alignment with department standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Color fundus photography
    • Fluorescein angiography
    • ICG (Indocyanine Green) angiography
    • Optical coherence tomography
    • Automated perimetry
    • Slit lamp photography
    • External photography
    • Ocular motility photography

    You will perform supervised testing using specialty-specific imaging tools, upload images into the electronic medical record system, and provide patient-centric care while adhering to University of Miami standards. Beyond diagnostic tasks, you will ensure patient safety, maintain equipment, and assist in organizing clinical activities.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
    • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience
    • Skills: Proficiency in ocular anatomy, imaging instruments, and computer software
