    Description

    Founded in 1963, Townley Engineering & Manufacturing is a rapidly growing, American-made solutions expert for wear and abrasion problems found in the mining, dredging, and power industries. We have an available opportunity for a Sales Application Engineer to join our team. This position is our subject matter expert in relation to our Townley slurry pumps.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review customers technical requirements to design, select and configure pumps, and pumping systems.
    • Respond to customer requests by understanding their pumping system needs and offer the best solution.
    • Provides design engineers with technical information collection.
    • As a slurry pump expert, provide technical support to outside sales, inside sales and customers.
    • Troubleshoot customer issues regarding Townley slurry pumps by visiting sites and diagnosing the issue.
    • Ability to lay out and space pumps for our customers.
    • Develop and maintain product knowledge necessary to service customers within their assigned market.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, and 3-5 years of applicable experience.
    • Extensive knowledge of centrifugal slurry pumps and pump systems required.
    • 25% travel each month to industrial sites.
    • SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Inventor knowledge and experience with 3D design software required.
    • Ability to operate general office equipment including personal computers. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
    • Communicate effectively orally and written.
