    Regions Hospital in St.

    Paul, MN is offering a post-graduate program for highly motivated Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in Psychiatry.

    This 12-month program emphasizes differential diagnosis using DSM 5 psychopharmacology, neuroscience, psychological and neuropsychiatry assessment, emergency psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, community-based psychiatry, toxicology, adult and child psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry.

    The primary areas of focus are adult inpatient, crisis, and outpatient services. Additionally, the fellows will receive continued training in the management of acute and chronic medical conditions.

    The APC Fellow must be able to work in multiple environments:

    hospital, clinic and rural settings and be able to manage patients from low acuity to high acuity with varying degrees of supervision.

    The APC Fellow will manage patients in various specialty areas with assigned rotations through different services or departments to obtain a well-rounded education.

    Fellow duties include performing patient care assessments, treatments and planning and working effectively with supervising physicians/APC and interdisciplinary team members.

    *Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program *Current registration to practice as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota & current national certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; OR *Certified Nurse Practitioner by the State of Minnesota *Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota *Current Nurse Practitioner certification by the AANP or ANCC Benefits: Regions Hospital offers a competitive benefits package (.5 FTE or greater) that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, 401K with match, disability insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
