Located in the beautiful Lake Champlain Islands, the Grand Isle Supervisory Union is comprised of five communities supporting over 950 students.

Included are Alburgh Community Education Center, Champlain Islands Unified Union School District and Folsom Education Center in South Hero.

The GISU Schools specialize in educating grades K-6/K-8, while students in grades 9-12 have the choice of attending High Schools in neighboring counties.

We are an easy commute from Burlington and are located about 1.5 hours from Montreal or under 4 hours from Boston.

The Grand Isle Supervisory Union is currently seeking a 1.0 FTE Speech and Language Pathologist for the school year.

This position will act as a member of a team of special educators that specialize in meeting the needs of students.

Responsibilities will include conducting assessments, providing individual and group therapy and support in the classroom as needed in the areas of articulation, receptive/expressive language and social language.

Other responsibilities will include:

curriculum development for 1:1 or group instruction, case management, writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans and accommodations, and progress monitoring.

The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with parents and school staff to develop the best course of action for each child.
