    Description

    The Reimer Lab ) studies sensory processing across different brain states and the mechanisms that control the gating and routing of information in the brain. We are seeking a research associate who will perform cranial window surgeries on mice and conduct experiments using multiphoton fluorescence imaging. They may also aid in experimental design, equipment setup and maintenance and mouse colony management.

    Job Duties

    • Collect large scale neural recordings using multiphoton fluorescence imaging as well as behavioral recordings.
    • Document research activities for publication and grant reporting.
    • Maintain colony of mice in collaboration with the Center for Comparative Medicine.
    • Prepare animals for recording, which may include cranial window surgery and/or viral vector injections into mouse cortex.
    • Set up and maintain behavioral apparatus and data acquisition equipment.
    • Train less experienced lab members for surgery, recording, and best experimental practices.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Basic Science or a related field. Experience in lieu of degree will not be accepted.
    • Three years of relevant experience typically as a Research Assistant, Research Technician or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate.
