Mechanical Designer

Role and Responsibilities

The Mechanical Designer role is a core role in the Sapience Engineering team. Responsibilities include:

· Designing machines, robotic end-of-arm tools, fixtures, & stands for automation systems.

· Designing and documenting the mechanical layout of the automation system.

· When required, testing prototype designs of equipment

· Creating drawing packages for system installations· Creating manufacturing drawing packages for fabrication vendor· Providing remote support to Sapience team members on site for troubleshooting systems

· Occasionally, travelling to customer sites to assist with installation design and project support

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Proficient in Solidworks & AutoCAD

· 3+ years of experience in the automation industry

· Experience in machine design and robot end effectors

· Post high-school degree in a technical discipline

· Strong written and spoken language skills

· Proficient on PCs and Microsoft Office applications
