    Trust Tax Manager

    Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Trust Tax Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.


    Responsibilities:


    Provide day-to-day management and support to the Bryn Mawr Trust Company of Delaware, which is responsible for the tax compliance of personal and corporate trust accounts, including tax support of our Global Capital Markets group.

    Assist in providing accurate, professional, and confidential communication with administrators and other internal departments, and outside accountants/advisors when responding to requests or providing support.

    The Delaware Trust & Institutional deliverables includes 1041 filings, tax reporting filings such as 1099s, 1042s, 5471, FBAR, and analysis of W-8 and W9s.

    Supervise and assist the tax process that updates and monitors trust account management, such as new account openings and closings, follow-up with exceptions, account updates, and asset update changes.

    Oversee the remittance of tax payments along with tax reporting to various tax authorities, including using various electronic filing systems such as EFTPS and FINCEN.

    Preparing, reviewing, correcting, and inputting client tax information for tax systems, registers, and tax filings, as well as overseeing the mailing of all tax filings and reporting for the various business lines while tracking the status of the tax returns and other documentation with authorities.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree in accounting or Business-related field.
    5 years of relevant Delaware accounting, tax, or legal experience.
    Credentialed tax professional - EA, CPA or LLM.
    Experience in trust tax form preparation and secondary review.
    Must have the ability to accurately access the tax compliance requirements per review of trust document/custody agreements.
    Must possess strong accounting, legal, and analytical skills, especially in fiduciary and estate tax rules and regulations.
    Must have strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel.

    Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal colleagues and external clients and advisors.

    Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
    Must have a background in foreign tax issues, such as FATCA, CRS, 5471s, 3520s, 1042s, and FBARs.
    Must have knowledge of IRS filing systems, such as EFTPS and FINCEN.
    Must have supervisory experience.
    Familiarity with tax software (OneSource), trust accounting software (SEI SWP), and TranStar is preferred.
