    Position Overview:


    The Pain Office Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the fiscal integrity of Pain Department as well as ensuring a positive patient experience.

    This role is responsible for of the Revenue Cycle Functions of the Urology Department. Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, computer skills, knowledge of office procedures, and ability to work independently required.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Scheduling patients in Medent and Meditech and collecting needed documents from providers such as orders, history and physical examinations, as well as other clinical documents as needed
    • Registering patients to include obtaining accurate and complete demographic information, insurance information, verifying eligibility and benefits, and checking medical necessity
    • Chart preparation in advance of patient appointment
    • Daily charge entry and reconciliation of charges for services rendered
    • Collection of medical record documentation as needed for denial management as assigned
    • Collaboration with the network access team and others within the department
    • Flexibility in assuming other appropriate responsibilities and duties not noted above
    • Meets performance, productivity and quality goals metrics
    • Attends and participates in department staff meetings and other meetings as assigned
    • Responsible for escalating issues and trends to Revenue Cycle Director
    • Special projects as assigned
    • Minimum of high school diploma/GED with 5 years' patient access or revenue cycle experience or
    • Associates Degree with 2 years' patient access or revenue cycle experience
    • Minimum of five (5) years' patient access or revenue cycle experience in an institutional setting.
    • Medical terminology with working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
    • Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (i.e. use of computer keyboard). May require use of lifting and carrying light loads (up to 10 pounds). Sitting or standing/walking for long periods of time.
