    Job Description

    Develop new features and integrations to existing Event Management platform and Monitoring Tools.
    Identify opportunities for event correlation and automation using data from Watson AIOps/Netcool NOI in coordination with our support teams.

    Participate in initiatives and projects to develop new and existing monitoring platformsAdminister and troubleshoot existing monitoring applications and serversIdentify and create automations that can be utilized by the monitoring infrastructureDevelop and maintain documentation for our tools and work with our frontline engineers to ensure they can address most common issues with our platform.

    Work with internal compliance organizations to ensure that all applications meet requirementsProvide occasional 3rd level, off hours support for monitoring and event management toolsExperience administering IBM suite of enterprise monitoring and event management tools such as IBM Watson AIOps, Netcool Operations Insight (NOI), , SevOne, etcExtensive knowledge of various monitoring technologies such as SNMP, ICMP, syslog, MIBs as well as other agent and agentless technologiesFamiliarity with systems, network, and application monitoring conceptsExperience with scripting, particularly Python and/or PERLLinux Administration experienceNetwork connectivity troubleshooting experience.

    Understand network protocols TCP/IP, HTTP, ICMPFamiliarity with REST APIs and WebhooksRequirements:


    5+ working with an enterprise monitoring application to monitor network devices and servers.5+ systems administration (Linux/Windows)Experience administering IBM Watson/Netcool/NOIExperience working with databases and writing SQL queriesExperience working with data center operations teamsExperience in managing or supporting a large enterprise network with business-critical applicationsExperience working with third party vendors for application supportEngineer as part of a team of other Watson AIOps/Netcool and monitoring engineers.

    Actively participate in day-to-day support of tools and project efforts for client environment(s)Participate in cross functional teams to foster collaboration within, and outside of, global operationsCreate concise and accurate technical documentation for consumption throughout organizationEstablish standards and thresholds for monitoring and auditing to ensure stable and supportable operating infrastructuresDrive service improvements and efficiencies through the design and development of effective automationParticipate and collaborate with operations management teams to provide root-cause analysis for all client outages and failed changes in the environmentReview audit and performance results to facilitate proper capacity planning and service managementFollow and promote the use of global process standardsStrong interpersonal skills that drive collaboration and promote a productive and creative work environmentAbility to effectively communicate with clients, peers, and managementAbility to develop and maintain internal and external professional relationshipsAbility to drive projects independently with only minimal direction.
