    Job DescriptionDescription:

    Overview: Teacher's Assistant works closely with the classroom Teacher

    by supporting them in their duties by helping them care for children and carry out planned

    activities.

    General responsibilities:

    With the guidance of a Teacher, the Teacher assistant:

    • care for the children, engage them in play and participate in educational

    activities.

    • Assist in planning of weekly themes, lesson plans and daily activities. Observe,

    record, and assess each child's individual growth and development.

    • Maintain a safe, healthy environment for children always.
    • Actively engage in daily activities and routines with children.
    • Ensure compliance with all City and Connecticut Early Childhood Education

    rules and regulations.

    Requirements:

    Qualifications & Requirements: Must be able to bend and stoop to interact on child's level.

    Must be able to play and communicate with children (run, jump, demonstrate physical exercise)

    Must be able to stand approximately 95% of the workday. A high school diploma is required,

    typically along with some coursework in Early Childhood Education and meets all local

    licensing requirements.

    Other qualifications may include:

    • Love of working with children
    • Basic knowledge of child development
    • Creativity and outgoing nature
    • Effective communication skills
    • Demonstrates flexibility to the daily business need
