- Deriving Ground Segment requirements and interfaces, developing segment CONOPS, leading technical design efforts, and delivering an effective Ground Segment.
- Communicating technical products to peers, leadership, and customers through various mediums.
- Managing suppliers, integrating ground software and hardware, and leading V&V activities.
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering or relevant field with 10+ years of experience.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, multi-disciplinary teams, and requirements management.
- Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance.
- 4-6 years of experience in a leadership role, Master's degree, and proficiency in systems engineering tools.
- Expertise in ground segment development, network systems, and cybersecurity.
- Background in Aerospace and Defense Industry.
- Walk, sit, stand, climb stairs, and utilize hand/arm motions.
- Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Minimal exposure to outdoor elements, hazardous materials, and loud noises.

Sierra Space is looking for a **Senior Systems Engineer - Ground Segment Lead** to join our Orbital Mission Systems team. This role involves overseeing the specification, integration, and testing of a ground control element for a pioneering space platform. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of ground control elements, interfaces, terrestrial control, communication networks, and more. Experience with GEPs, SATCOM networks, and mission control facilities is essential.
