    DIR is looking for a dynamic, highly-motivated, independent individual that will help lead and facilitate the Department's Emergency Preparedness and Security efforts. DIR occupies 40+ office locations statewide. The Safety and Security Unit is responsible for safety for all buildings, working with local staff, management, property managers and partners in law enforcement, Office of Emergency Services, CalFire, and other local agencies. The incumbent, in collaboration with other members of the Safety and Security Unit, is responsible for coordinating emergency preparedness drills, exercises, evacuations, and developing, implementing, and monitoring office emergency preparedness policies and security procedures. The incumbent will coordinate and respond to DIR and building staff in the event of an emergency or natural disaster by working with internal and external subject matter experts to maximize the safety and security of people and property. The incumbent independently manages the development and annual submission of the Department's Business Continuity Plan, Business Impact Analysis, and Business Continuity Checklist to the California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES). Leads the development, training, and testing of the roles and responsibilities of the Business Continuity Plan. Independently conducts investigations and provides reports for workplace health and safety incidents, accidents, or exposures. Acts as the Department-wide point-of-contact for health and safety issues. The incumbent independently manages DIR's access badge systems in all state owned and privately leased locations including, but not limited to, the installation, removal, maintenance, and modification of access badge systems, card readers, and related equipment in DIR locations.

    Candidates are eligible for hybrid telework with two (2) in office days.

    Candidates may be offered 9/8/80 voluntary Alternate Work Week Schedules (AWWS) consisting of eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day in a two-week period with one scheduled day off every other week.

    Working Conditions
    The incumbent works in a cubicle environment in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer, as necessary, for email communication, research, and other purposes. Some occasional travel is required to visit various DIR offices.
