    Description


    Job ResponsibilitiesPerform/manage materials analysis for internal research, and for external customers, to support product failure analysis and industrial process quality improvementDevelop enhanced laboratory capability for materials analysis, in particular non-destructive evaluation technologiesPrepare and present/publish technical results of researchDevelop proposals for external fundingSupport expansion of existing research programs that support sustainable industrial development, with a focus on: remanufacturing, recycling, process material and energy efficiency, condition assessment and prognostics, and additive manufacturingSupport sustainable product design efforts from materials perspectiveAdditional DetailsIn compliance with NYS's Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is listed above.

    Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Materials Science5-10+ years work experience with industry, national lab or equivalent in materials development or analysis or process development Significant experience in metals and metallurgy, with flexibility to work on diverse materials, technical challenges, and application domains is requiredExperience in analysis of materials and material failuresAnalytical ability to solve challenging design/development problemsStrong organization and motivational skillsDemonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, for both technical and non-technical audiencesAuthorized to work in the U.S.
