    Plant Engineer is responsible for the materials management, product engineering, and systems engineering of the plant.


    PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Is responsible for day-to-day management of inventory, which includes order processing and material quality management.
    Leads new product introductions in the plant by setting up ERP system, Excel files, and bill of materials.
    Manages engineering change orders for the location. Maintains product data which includes material specifications and product reference sheets.
    Works with corporate engineering to develop specifications for materials and train plant management and employees on those products.
    Lead product qualifications and product substitutions for the plant.

    Oversees plant systems by programming macros for ERP system, run ERP transactions, manage inventory, order processing, and support internal and external reporting.

    Manage projects for the plant as directed by the plant manager.
    Other duties as assigned.


    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combined education and experience.
    Minimum 1 year experience managing ERP systems.
    Minimum 1 year experience managing projects in a manufacturing environment.
    Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
    Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative without daily interaction with management.
    Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
    Demonstrated ability to perform accurate work under the pressures of tight deadlines.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with external customers.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
    Manufacturing experience in the wood industry.
    Experience with inventory and product management.
