    Position Summary

    Position is responsible for effectively planning initiatives for teaching natural and cultural history to park patrons.

    Position Responsibilities

    Designs, develops, and implements programs that are interpretive to all age groups.

    Researches and provides guidance and support to Managers regarding the animals, plants, and exhibits in their facilities.

    Develops and maintains databases for cataloguing information.

    Develops and maintains relationships with educators and other user groups for on-going programming opportunities.

    Develops and delivers programming for school groups based upon existing academic standards.

    Conducts data research requiring collection, analysis, and evaluation of information.

    Coordinates with the Managers, Administrators, Director, and other levels as needed.

    Develops and maintains programming supplies, displays, educational materials, biological and geological specimens.

    Utilizes CLASS computer system to track progress and identify "quality improvement".

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in natural resources, wildlife ecology, or related field and three (3) years of relevant work experience. Ability to develop and present effective presentations to a variety of audiences.

    Ability to effectively coordinate, guide, assist and monitor project research and analysis processes, thereby ensuring the successful completion of assigned work projects.


    Ability to communicate effectively through the following means:
    oral, writing, summary tables and graphs, photographs, graphics, databases. Knowledge of Indiana flora and fauna, eco-systems, biological interactions and concepts.

    Independent Judgment

    Independent judgment is utilized in providing sound professional planning advice. Work is performed with limited guidance.
