    Duties and Responsibilities of Senior Construction Accountant

    Job Responsibilities

    Responsible for the accounting operations of the company

    Communicate routinely with Project Managers on a variety of job-related topics including monthly progress billings, job budgeting, job financial performance.

    Participate in the formation and implementation of company financial plans

    Preparation of financial reports

    Work with outside accounting/financial firms on monthly close-out procedures Provide reporting and budgeting as required by Senior Management.

    Manage company and project cash flow

    Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable staff and functions.

    Develop written accounting procedures for the operations staff and work with team to ensure proper implementation and compliance.

    Develop and maintain relationships with key partners including banks, title companies, etc. that will support and grow the business

    Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends

    Job Experience Requirements

    1. Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

    2. Experience: Previous experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the construction industry

    3. Construction Knowledge: A solid understanding of construction industry practices, terminology, and project management is essential.

    4. Financial Software Skills: Proficiency in financial software and accounting tools is crucial. Skilled in using QuickBooks, Excel, ComputerEase, Busybusy

    5. Analytical Skills: Be able to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to project stakeholders.

    6. Attention to Detail: Construction projects involve numerous financial transactions, and accuracy is vital. Candidates must pay close attention to detail to avoid errors that could impact project finances.

    7. Communication: Effective communication skills are essential. Be able to collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and financial teams.

    8. Compliance and Regulations: Knowledge of relevant tax laws, accounting standards, and industry regulations.

    9. Problem-Solving: Construction projects may encounter financial challenges, and candidates must be adept at identifying and resolving issues to keep projects on track.
