    Job Description

    Functions

    Responsible for management, coordination, and execution for all OPC Class Warranty and DD250 claims. Responsible for all warranty customer relations including liaise/interface with government representatives (PRO/SFLC/Product Line) on warranty matters and issues, business strategy and strategic alliances or subcontract partnerships in support of warranty and relations with customer. Oversee contract compliance and direct resolution of contract interpretation engaging customer in matters for warranty issues, liaise/interface with senior representatives of major sub-contractors on warranty programmatic issues. Coordinated all planning and scheduling of key events and milestones for warranty activity, tracked and monitored performance to schedule and performance to budget.

    Responsible for the Integration of program execution across all functional disciplines and to ensure and/or establish common methods/process across OPC USCG contract. This includes the development and implementation of evaluations, reviews and reporting of program requirements and performance of planned objectives to the OPC Production Configuration Manager. Interface with the USCG PRO / SFLC customer as required by contract and as needed to ensure coordination.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

    • Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
    • Maintain ethics that represent Eastern Shipbuilding
    • Establish and maintain a warranty item correction program to ensure that all Contractor responsible warranty defects are corrected in an expeditious manner.
    • Act as the principal point of contact between the Contractor and the cutter during the warranty period
    • Authorize and coordinate cutter visits by vendor representatives and accomplishment of industrial work locally to correct warranty defects.
    • Conduct cutter visits as required to gain familiarity with scope and nature of the warranty defects and ensure satisfactory completion of such items.
    • Conduct liaison with the OPC PRO Warranty Officer to ensure that corrective actions are satisfactory and signed-off.
    • Develop, generate, monitor, and maintain warranty status on all OPCs hulls - Performance to schedule and performance to budget.
    • Stand up Homeport Capabilities to support execution of warranty and DD250 scope.
    • Assist/Create, Run Reports Weekly/Monthly
    • Support Quarterly Program Management Reviews (PMRs) with ESG / USCG
    • Ensure the smooth transition and cost-efficient flow of new construction production operations through warranty periods.
    • Provide lessons learned, feedback mechanism and defined processes from warranty / DD250 back into new construction.
    • Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, travel, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
    • Coordination of timely DD-250 signoffs with PRO / ACO for the entire DD250 package (i.e., clearing discrepancies for release of retention withholdings)
    • Ability to demonstrate effective trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Ability to manage OEMs warranty terms and conditions on applicable equipment.
    • Provide management oversite and direction to Warranty Coordinators who will liaison with the Coast Guard PRO Warranty Officer and ships force.
    • Manage all OPCs warranty when ship is in ships warranty period of performance.
    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Directly and/or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the Warranty Dept.

    Reporting Relationship

    This position will report to the Integration Director

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, Management, Construction, or Engineering. 5 years of experience in warranty. 5 or more years of related experience in Change management, contract management, project management, ship design, production, DD-250 execution, material support and Sustainment preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Skills:

    Advanced level Microsoft including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to show initiative and innovation, adapt to ambiguous and fast-paced situations, and track, manage and prioritize multiple tasks with strict deadlines.

    Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials, and the public exercising diplomacy and tact. Ability to communicate effectively and to forge and sustain outstanding client relationships while managing and executing multiple workstreams. Demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual skills. Ability to lead multi-system integrated product teams. Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
