    N/ALocation: Patricia Handy Place for Women; In-personStatus: Full-Time; Non-ExemptN Street Village supports women in Washington, D.C. experiencing homelessness by offering a broad spectrum of services, housing, and advocacy in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.

    The Program Associate is a part of an interdisciplinary team that provides services for women in N Street Villages programs that include day services, low barrier shelter, temporary shelter, and permanent supportive housing.


    Responsibilities:
    Develop a positive rapport with each client through routine contact and communicationAssist with step up of the program to include setting out breakfast and lunch items, toiletries, laundry and shower items, activity sheetsAssist with closing the program down to include cleaning the day program areasServing mealsConduct program intake and initial health wellness screeningsRespond to immediate client needs, help de-escalate crisis situations, help resolve conflicts and enforce program rulesComplete program documentation to include daily activity sheets, monthly reports, and incident reports as neededProvides support and assistance by completing care coordination tasks such as completing referrals for services and residency formsImmediately report serious incidents, allegations, and sensitive program information to the Program ManagerWork in collaboration with volunteers and partner agencies who are providing services to the womenParticipate in program team meetings, staff meetings, supervision meetings as requiredBuild and maintain quality working relationships with colleagues, external and internal stakeholdersParticipate in program quality improvement activities that improve program policies, procedures and client and program outcomesAdhere to agency policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree and 1 year of direct social services experience, orHS Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of direct social services experience, orHS Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of work experience

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience working with vulnerable populations and the related issues of addiction and mental illness strongly preferredFamiliarity with DC Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)

    Knowledge of issues facing those who are experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populationsWorking knowledge of traumaValues commensurate with a community committed to providing inclusive services without regard to race, religion, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, or gender identityExperience with, or capacity to learn, data visualization techniques and softwareSkills and Competencies:

    Strong cultural competence, including excellent interactions and communication ability with a diverse populationMature abilities in developing interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolutionAbility to work independentlyPossess crisis management skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationDetail oriented and analytical thinkerPractices reflect N Street Villages vision, mission and values.

    The hourly rate for this position is $20.40 per hour
