    Job Summary

    Provide coordination of injury prevention intitiatives and programs for the Trauma Program. Integrally involved in quality improvement initiatives related to trauma care.

    As a leader, develops and implements injury prevention programs for the community based on needs assessment and community request.

    Takes active role with KIPRIC, safe kids, and Kentucky Safe Aging Coalition to assist in development and implementation of programs and research.

    Will assist with execution and budget of the statewide trauma symposium. Serves on trauma related hospital committees and participates in outside committees as desired/requested. Facilitates the aggregation of trauma data and ensures accuracy for the Trauma Program annual report.


    The Trauma Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for development and implementation of internal and external trauma-related education based on outcomes monitoring and protocol/best practices.

    Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

    Knowledge of injury prevention and trauma nursing preferred

    Previous experience as a Registered Nurse within an Emergency department or Trauma ICU or Trauma Progressive Care area preferred.

    Maintains national certification as a Certified Care Seat Installation Technician.

    Personal Computer skills

    Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience

    Previous experience with trauma, critical care, progressive care, emergency care.
