Insight Global is seeking a Purchasing Specialist for one of our largest clients to sit in Devens, MA.

This individual will be responsible for owning the relationship with suppliers, overseeing successful receipts of all products in a commodity.

In a broad summary, the Purchasing Specialist will be obtaining the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management.

They will be responsible for identifying manufacturing needs, identifying and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and arranging delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a manufacturing background and previous experience working with MRP (Material Requirement Planning) systems and methods.

This role will sit onsite in Devens, MA.

Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or Contracts Management

• APICS Certified
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain (or related field)

* 6+ years of experience working within the supply chain or with a planning background

• Previous experience working with MRP (Material Requirement Planning) systems and methods
• Experience working with mechanical components (castings, springs, seals, valves, etc.)
• Experience with supplier management, supplier development, supplier evaluation, and supplier scorecard ratings
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills while working with suppliers and customers
• Manufacturing background
• Ability to travel up to 5% (to different suppliers & Parker division sites)
