Financial Counselor-Patient Access-FT-Day Shift - Flowood, United States - Merit Health Women's Hospital

Description

Reporting to the hospital's registration leadership, responsible for rounding on inpatients and confirming any needed information, collection of patient amounts due, acquiring financial assistance applications and other necessary financial functions.

Also assists walk-in and call-in patients with billing questions and needs.

Some post-secondary education is preferred. Must be able to read and write the equivalent of eighth grade English.

Working knowledge of processes for all major insurance carriers, intermediaries, Medicare and Medicaid strongly preferred. Position requires efficient organization, follow-up and data entry skills. Excellent customer relations and oral/written communication skills are required.
