    Description

    In this role you will:


    The Patient Access Leads are responsible for assisting the Patient Access Supervisors in overseeing the day-to-day operations of their designated area of responsibility.

    They are the first point of contact for employee and patient issues and provide leadership and guidance to staff to problem solve identified situations.

    They assist the supervisors by ensuring staff are well-trained and following requirements of their dedicated positions. They are also back up during high volume times and to cover PTO and callouts.

    All leads must portray themselves in a professional manner with their peers and know when appropriate to escalate with I the leadership team following the appropriate chain of command.

    This position has remote possibilities but must be able to work on-site as needed.


    Key Responsibilities:


    Assists supervisor with overseeing the day-to-day operations of their designated area of responsibility by monitoring staff through daily reports and dashboards and make any necessary corrections to ensure all work is completed in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

    Assist staff in times of high volume to ensure all work is completed timely.
    Acts as a backup for call outs and scheduled PTO.
    Trains all new department employees.
    Works with supervisor to create and maintain training materials.
    Assists supervisor and manager with training existing employees on new programs and processes.
    Accepts escalated calls from staff and takes ownership of resolution and keeps supervisor informed of any concerns.

    Scheduling leads monitor the Cancellation phone line messages and process all incoming cancellation requests and the Athena bumped appointment list and reschedule appointments.

    Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
    All other duties as assigned


    About You:
    Candidate must be a High School Graduate.

    Must have 3-5 years' experience in a medical field with Patient Access skills in Registration, Scheduling, Insurance Benefit or Authorization background.

    Must be multi-tasked, organized, display a positive attitude with positive thinking and be self-motivated.
    Must be comfortable training new staff.
    Excellent written, interpersonal oral communication skills.
    Strong attention to detail and able to problem solve.
