- The Member Service Representative delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants contributing to member retention.
- Answering phones in a professional manner.
- General data entry and clerical functions.
- Responsible for monies received during shift and ensures that transactions are accurately recorded. Completes End of Shift process reconciling cash, check, and credit transactions to balance the shift report.
- Conduct facility tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; while promoting membership at the Y.
- Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent knowledge of computers and office software are essential.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
- Previous customer service, sales or related experience desired.
- Must be able to multi-task efficiently and work effectively under pressure.
- Candidates must be punctual, reliable and available to work their assigned shift.
- Be willing and able to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
- Must have a neat appearance and be well-groomed.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic
segments of the community in a respectful manner. - Ability to maintain a calm, professional presence when handling stressful or difficult situations.
- CPR/ First Aid Certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Be able to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender check.
