Job summary
This position is responsible for receiving, shipping, delivering and picking up equipment to and from Western States customer locations using a Class 8 truck with Lowboy trailer throughout assigned region.Essential Functions include pickups and deliveries of equipment as assigned throughout assigned region (intrastate) on a timely basis using a Class 8 truck with Lowboy trailer.
The driver must determine the most efficient route based on load weight road traffic conditions instruct customers on proper equipment use and safety procedures complete status updates using dispatching software trip envelopes bill of lading as required loads unload equipment onto trailer follow all safety requirements to ensure equipment is secured properly maintains a Drivers Log Book as required by DOT regulations follows DT rules and regulations regarding oversize loads permits administers daily inspection requirements meets all DOT driver qualifications rules and regulations maintains current CDL completes documents for invoice closeout at the end of each haul monitors trip permits overweight length permits ensures proper documentation is on hand during haul washes polishes company truck traler appearance mechanical condition reports any delays due to breakdowns weather or traffic conditions emergencies irregularities relating pickup delivery equipement reports all accidents incidents involving drivers company equipement highway safety hazards noted in route assists CRS deliveries needed adheres customer care standards actively cares advocates safety at Western States adhere applicable safety policies procedures standards may accomplish training serve team member support Western States strategic programs projects initiatives work within promote corporate vision mission values organization performs duties assigned.
